About the Journal

“The Qazaq Historical Review” (QHR) is an open access peer reviewed scholarly journal and the official publication of the “ABDI Institute for Humanities Studies” LLP. The mission of the Journal is to publish original articles, critique, and reviews on the history of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and the world, as well as to improve the level of scholarly research and develop international academic cooperation within the framework of this topic. The objective of the Journal is to provide a scholarly platform for scholars to publish the most recent research findings in the fields of history and anthropology, archeology and ethnography, cartography, and numismatology. The Journal aims to provide a fresh perspective on the history of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, utilizing contemporary scholarly methodologies, the most extensive historical sources, and a comprehension of events, phenomena, and processes within the context of social, intellectual, economic, demographic, and military history. The Journal also publishes historical and interdisciplinary research as well as book reviews on the history of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and adjacent regions. A significant amount of attention is given to the visual support provided by the articles, including but not limited to photographs, maps, drawings, and tables. The task of the Journal is to unite the efforts of scholars from Kazakhstan, the countries of Central Asia and the world to identify and solve current research problems related to the history and culture of the peoples of Central Asia. The editorial policy of the Journal aims at the active use and popularization of advanced domestic and foreign experience in the study of Kazakh and Central Asian history, familiarizing specialists, and all interested readers with it, and increasing the publication activity of researchers. The decision of publication of an article depends on the opinions of leading scholars (involved as reviewers and experts) about its significance, scholarly novelty, originality, and relevance.
