Abstract

The article describes the events during the Great Migration of Peoples. In particular, the Xunnu tribe, known as the Huns in Europe, was emphasized. Sima Qian, Ammianus Marcellinus, Dionysius, Priscus of Panii, Iordan, Claudius Claudian and other famous historians of the Ancient and Middle Ages gave information about the Huns. The social structure and legal system, economic base and anthropological and cultural features of the Huns are described in detail. The complex relations with the Iranian-speaking Alans, the Germanic Visigoths and the conflict with the Western Roman Empire are described
